Since designers should be responsible for everything on a page, they should also know about using the right kind dashes. Of course, there is the regular dash used for hyphenation or in a phone number. Then there is the EN dash. The En dash is used when you would say THROUGH or TO. Like ages 7–9 or from 10–11 am. The EM dash is used to break up a sentence or thought. You can also use it as a divider of content in a layout. The image used with this post needs an EN dash instead of a regular dash.
